Guided tours of exhibitions for classes enable students to broaden their insights into art, engage in thematic discussions about personal responses to artworks, and promote critical thinking and diverse perspectives on viewing the world.

Plan Your Trip

Schedule your group visit using our tour form at least 2 weeks prior to your requested date. Museum education staff will respond to tour requests within 3 business days. 

Please review our guidelines and responsibilities with your group prior to your arrival.  

Outdoor lunch space on the Plaza is available with advance notice. Please indicate your request on your tour form. Alternate lunch plans are advisable in the event of inclement weather. 

Free parking is provided for personal vehicles and buses. Bus drivers should drop students at the St. Mary Street drop off and park at the Girouard Park bus parking.  

Plan to arrive at the Museum fifteen minutes before your scheduled visit. Upon arrival, check in at the Museum’s Front Desk. Full payment for admission is due at the time of your arrival.  

If your group will be late, please notify the Front Desk immediately at 337.482.0811.

We love our art! Please be sure to stay at least twelve inches away from labels, display cases, and gallery walls.  

Food, drinks, gum, and smoking are prohibited.  

Only pencils may be used in the galleries.  

Leave coats, backpacks, and large bags in your vehicle or at the Visitor’s Services Desk.  

Please put phones on silent and refrain from answering calls during your visit.  

Chaperones are responsible for the behavior of their group at all times—make sure students understand and observe the guidelines listed above.  

One chaperone is required per ten students.  

Please avoid side conversations with other students or adults when on a guided or docent-led tour.

Are there fees for my group?
Student groups of 20+ are $8/student. One free chaperone per 10 paid students. Art activities can be scheduled for an additional fee. Please inquire with the education team in advance.

How many chaperones do we need?
We recommend 1 chaperone per 10 students.

What if we need to cancel or reschedule our visit?
If your group will be late or needs to reschedule or cancel your visit, please notify the Front Desk immediately at 337.482.0811.
