The Hilliard Art Museum is an exceptional educational resource with dynamic and cross-disciplinary programs for university students, children, families, and adults alike.

Group and Student Tours

We offer guided educational tours for University students, K-12 students, community groups (adult), or camps and extracurricular classes. Our resources include tailored lessons and activities for all ages, providing hands-on learning experiences. Group tours are available to auxiliary groups, church groups, non-profit organizations, businesses, and book clubs.

Family Offerings

The Hilliard ignites a passion for art in visitors of all ages. A place where families can discover together. The Hilliard has several family programs, such as Family Fête, throughout the year. Follow our events calendar to see ongoing and special events for families.

  • Create & Play Café, a monthly hands-on activity for kids ages 4 and up.
  • Family Fête, a biannual day of art, community, performances, and interactive experiences for all ages.
  • Petit Atelier, a monthly after-school art class for ages 9-14. Students view art from the permanent collection and current exhibitions as a launching pad for artistic exploration (coming Spring 2026).

University Connections

As part of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the Hilliard Art Museum shares a deep commitment to the value of Liberal Arts education. We offer opportunities for partnership with faculty, alumni and student groups, research into the collection, and events and programs showcasing cross-disciplinary collaboration. ULL faculty and staff always enjoy free admission to the museum, artist talks, and symposiums.

Community Offerings

The Hilliard offers learning opportunities year-round. The Acadiana community is invited to engage with visiting and university scholars, hear directly from artists, and explore techniques in hands-on workshops. Our public programs are designed to create cross-disciplinary dialogue and expand our understanding of the arts.
