Summary

We collect information you provide (membership, ticketing, donations, class registrations, event RSVPs, newsletter sign-ups), information collected automatically (cookies, device data, analytics), and information from partners (payment processors, university systems). Who we are

The Hilliard Art Museum (“Hilliard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is affiliated with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with our websites, in-person experiences, programs, and related services (“Services”).

  • Covered: Public websites and subdomains; online forms and ticketing; membership and donation flows; email/SMS communications; Wi-Fi landing pages; and other interactions where this policy is linked.

  • Not covered: Third-party sites or services we link to (e.g., payment providers, ticketing platforms, social media). Their policies apply to their services.

  • Institutional context: Some transactions may be facilitated by the UL Lafayette Foundation or other campus partners subject to their own privacy policies.

  1. You provide: Name, contact details, membership and donor info, ticketing and program registrations, payment details (processed by third parties), communications, and media permissions.

  2. Collected automatically: IP address, browser/device data, usage activity, cookies, analytics, and Wi-Fi telemetry (connection data, not content).

  3. From others: University systems, ticketing/CRM/payment providers, and publicly available social or profile information.

U.S. state laws (e.g., CA, CO, CT, UT, VA): You may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information; opt out of targeted advertising or data “sale/sharing”; and appeal a refusal.

How to request: Email us at artmuseum@louisiana.edu with the subject “Privacy Request.” Provide enough detail to verify your identity. Authorized agents must include proof.

California Notice at Collection: We collect identifiers, contact details, transaction info, internet activity, geolocation, and similar categories for the purposes in this policy.

EEA/UK and other regions: You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, object, or withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local authority.

 

Security & retention

We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No system is 100% secure.

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law.

 

International users

We are based in the United States. If you access Services from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries with different data protection laws.

 

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be posted with a revised effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice.
