SUMMARY:Pop Life: Warhol and the Culture of Visibility\, Part One
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a conversation with Dr. Allison Leigh\, Associate Professor of Art History at UL Lafayette\, as she explores the enduring influence of Pop art icon Andy Warhol — from his role as one of the first influencers to the voyeuristic nature of his life and studio practice. The discussion will examine how Warhol’s fascination with celebrity\, image-making\, and observation foreshadowed many of the themes in our lives today.  \nDr. Allison Leigh is an Associate Professor of Art History and the SLEMCO/LEQSF Regents Endowed Professor in Art & Architecture at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She also is a published author of BURN THE LAST ONE: Misogyny and Modern Art from Delacroix to Picasso.  \nMembers\, UL students\, faculty and staff are free; Public entrance with museum admission. \nSummer programming is presented by Dr. Jay Culotta and Kiki Frayard. \n
